Jeff Smith for Common Council 1st Ward
A trusted voice with decades of hands-on municipal experience.
I'm running to protect our historic charm, support our youth, and move the 1st Ward forward.

Values and Experience
What I bring to the table as your representative for the 1st Ward is decades of hands-on municipal experience, a proven track record of community service, and a deep commitment to the future of Little Falls.
Civic Governance Experience
Effective local government requires knowing how the system works. My long-time service on the Codes and Property Management Board and a decade of experience with state-sanctioned zoning for our Historical District (and more) give me the practical tools to get projects done right.
Committed Volunteer
I believe in rolling up my sleeves for this city. Over the years, I've had the privilege of serving as Board President for the Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts, a board member for Preserve Our Past, and a dedicated organizer, board member, and trainer for the Garlic Festival.
Deep Community Roots
Little Falls has been my home for 21 years. I am proud to be a local home owner, helping care for the grounds at Burke Park, and I am deeply humbled to carry the full endorsement of the previous three 1st Ward alderpersons; a reflection of the trust I've built across our city.
Heart for the Family & Future
As a father and grandfather, I care deeply about the next generation. I get the incredible joy of working with our local youth as a substitute teacher at Benton Hall Academy. It's work I truly love, and it keeps me grounded in what matters most: building a safe, vibrant city our kids will be proud of.

What is an Alderman? The 1st Ward?
Things that we should know about our local government.
What is an Alderman?
An alderman is an elected official who represents a specific ward in a city council. In Little Falls, it is also called the Common Council and it is responsible for local governance and community issues.
Where is the 1st Ward?
In Little Falls, the 1st Ward represents the western portion of the city. Its borders run south of Monroe Street and north of the 5, (mostly) between Furnace Street and Ann Street. Please check the map for a detailed view of the ward's boundaries.
What is the Common Council?
The Common Council is the legislative body of the city, consisting of elected representatives from each ward, including the Aldermen. Decisions in the council affect local laws, budgets, and community services.
So what?
Folks in town (and the country) are often frustrated with the state of politics. I've learned that the pieces are there, but folks feel disconnected from the process. I want to help bridge that gap.
